Africa and Abandoned Theme Parks
1.I thought it was very interesting to see Nick Brandt start out as a video director to going full time with photography. This is a huge change in how he approaches everything in his work.Lastly,I thought he was courageous because not many people go to Africa and he is from England so there is a huge change in culture.
3.I like how he took a picture of a dangerous lion and was courageous enough to do that.I like how it is black, white and love who the picture was taken at the right time.
4.It has many rules of photography but are mainly simplicity and balance.
5.He does not use a telephone lens and he tries to go close to the animals to get a better picture.
6.He wants to take the best picture and whats to take a picture of how these animals are actually and not what many people think they are.
7.He wants to take the best looking pictures of these animals and show how these animals actually are.
8. “On This Earth, A Shadow Falls, Across the Ravaged Land”
9.He wants to bring a new concept to life in these pictures.
10.He is not using photoshop with his pictures and is creating the most realistic/natural pictures.
11.I think that he is going to have better quality and more realistic pictures.
12.I like these pictures and it feels realistic and its quality is really good to me as if it is right next to me.
Abandoned Theme Park1.Land of Oz,Beech Mountain,North Carolina,USA because I felt like this was the safest looking out of all the abandoned amusement parks. In the article it says that the amusement park is till in good tact for the most part and opened for the two days of the year for the Autumn of Oz.

Great Black and White Photographers Part 3
1st Photo:
I see a mountain called Winter Sunrise.
I smell the snow all around me.
I hear the harsh winds and the mountains.
I taste the cold wind going into my mouth.
I feel cold and want to go home right now.
2nd Photo:
I see a lake called Mono Lake.
I smell the air and water.
I hear the water flowing in the lake.
I taste the pure fresh water from the lake.
I feel good, relaxed and love the scenery around Mono Lake.

Photo Manipulation and Ethics
A.They are talking about how photography is changing with photoshop and some news places are tracking this down and putting strict guidelines on what you can or cannot change in your pictures.
B.The New York Times and the Washington Post have strict guidelines on how to photograph your pictures.
C.You can edit your photo to make it look better but cannot change how the whole photo looks or make it look completely different.

Post Shoot Reflection
1.When I was taking pictures of Bowie it was hard to find specific prompts to take pictures of.There was a lot of space at Bowie but to find specific objects can be hard to seek out.
2.What I was mainly trying to focus on was keeping the camera focused and making sure that my subject was inline with the camera.
3.I should have done more pictures of Bowie and I should have done more of the different rules of photography.
4.I would do more of the same types of pictures that I did already but would add more.
5.The prompts should be more diverse and different.I felt like the prompts were basic and could have been more more opinion based for different people.

Composition 9/11
Prompt Shoot #1
| Square-I picked this window because it shows the trees the other parts of the academic building and the construction of the Bowie Parking Garage. |
| Metal-I picked this because it is metal and every time you go upstairs in the academic building you use it. |
| Happy-In this picture I was having a good time taking pictures for the day and got to not sit down listening to the teacher so that was good. |
| Bowie-I picked this for bowie because the oak tree is an iconic tree in Austin and because when you come into Bowie this is the first thing you see. |
Composition 9/11
| Line-It is focusing on the lines in this picture and shows the smoke from the buildings during 9/11. |
![]() |
| Framing-This picture is framing because it shows a picture of the explosion from the two twin towers when it happened. |
![]() |
Balanced-It is balanced because nothing is out of place, natural and pure. This is a picture of an officer at a 9/11 memorial in New York City on 9/11/02. |
![]() |
| Simplicity-This is simplicity because it is focusing on the gas from the World Trade Center. |
